Something strange is happening.

People are losing interest in everything.

Work.
Careers.
Endless ambition.
The corporate ladder.
Even the idea of “success”.

And the system immediately says:

“It’s burnout.”

But what if it’s something else?

Maybe a part of us that believed in the illusion is dying.

The illusion that:

  • work will fulfill us
  • status will complete us
  • money will bring meaning
  • the system is built for our happiness

Once you start seeing the mechanics behind it…

the motivation fades.

You can’t unsee the puppet strings.

Biology has an interesting parallel.

When animals experience extreme stress, they sometimes enter shutdown mode.

For example, stressed iguanas turn dark and barely move.

It’s a survival mechanism.

Energy conservation.

Freeze mode.

Now look at modern humans.

Scrolling endlessly.
Emotionally numb.
Going to work on autopilot.
Disconnected from meaning.

Maybe we are living through a zombie apocalypse.

Not the Hollywood kind.

These zombies don’t attack.

They just stopped believing in the game.

They show up.
They perform.
They survive.

But inside…

something has quietly checked out.

And maybe that’s not depression.

Maybe it’s disillusionment.

And sometimes disillusionment is the first step toward waking up.

Or maybe…

We are just a planet full of overstressed zombie iguanas

that worked too much , scrolled too much and forgot what it feels like to be alive.
